In this episode of Ek Duniya Ek Awaaz, Neelkamal Darbari, Joint Secretary, National Disaster Management Authority talks about the role that a Community Radio could play in a community for disaster management. Community Radio, a low cost medium for communication is in direct contact with the immediate community. Before 2005 all disaster management was relief centric. However, following the Disaster Management Act, there has been a change in the thinking and focus is being given to being prepared for a disaster. There are a number of tools available to train the grassroots community for being prepared for a disaster.
